NY MODIFIEDS 3D PRINTED MODIFIED SLOT CARS AND ACCESORIES.
3D printed slot cars – Bodies – Chassis – Wheels/Inserts – Drivers – Accesories
The future has been here for a few years now, and it was time to get involved with 21st Century technology...
We drew up an accurate 3D model of a '35 Chevy Vintage Modified Coupe that ran Islip Speedway back in late 60s, early 70s. In addition to this '35 Coupe there is a '37 Chevy Coupe in the works as well!
Work-in-progress on the Islip Speedway Jarzombeck Offset Coupe; a 3D printed Vintage Modified Coupe available soon in 1/32!
3D printing technology is moving quickly and I expect it to show more gains in the coming years - even months. That said, the surface finish and detail on our test car is better than expected. Ideally we would want to replicate iconic asphalt Modifieds from the Golden Era (1968-74?) that raced here on Long Island, and from New York, and New England.
I think the end game will be to offer bodies, chassis, and even a proper RTR 1/32 Vintage Modified to like minded folks... mostly aimed at the home racer. Initially we will offer wheels/inserts and accessories as we start to work in this area of the hobby.
Below are "Wide-5" wheel inserts created with high resolution 3D printing for scale appearance! We figure there will be lots of variations offered as we build up the library of wheels and inserts. These inserts are profesionally resin cast from 3D printed masters.
We are just starting to 'roll' these out!

These inserts are sized for a tight press fit in the rim. If need be, the inserts can be glued in place, or a thin piece of transparent Scotch tape can be partly wrapped around the insert, or they can even be sanded a bit, but they are designed for a press fit.
